MD Organisations Australia-Wide

MD associations have been serving people with neuromuscular conditions in Australia for over 50 years, the first established in South Australia on 4th August 1954. MD Foundation Australia

Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Australia (MDF Australia) was established in 2005 to increase cooperation among state-based Muscular Dystrophy associations. MDF Australia took a significant step in May 2008 in appointing its first CEO. Inaugural membership of this representative body included New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania. MDF Australia now comprises 6 states and territories, covering more than 2/3 of Australia’s population. Visit their website.

Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centres

CRCC help people find care and support to continue living independently in their own homes. They can provide information about community, aged care, disability and other support services. The centres can also help to arrange respite care when carers need a break, including in-home, emergency and other flexible respite options. Department of Communities – Disability Services

Government department overseeing all services for people with disabilities in Queensland. By July 2019, this department will be replaced by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
