PRIVACY STATEMENT

 

Muscular Dystrophy Queensland (MDQ) is a not for profit organisation supporting the needs of Queenslanders living with neuromuscular conditions. As well as the provision of various services to our clients, we engage in a number of other activities including fundraising, events and functions and provision of information and advocacy. In the course of this work, there are circumstances where we need to collect personal information.

 

MDQ has made a commitment to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act), in order to protect and maintain the privacy of this personal information.  An Australian Privacy Principles Privacy Policy has been developed in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPS set out the way in which personal information must be treated.

 

We may ask you to provide information verbally (e.g. –  via a telephone conversation) or in written format (e.g. – by completing a form and returning it to us). Only information that is necessarily required in the provision of a particular service or activity will be requested. This information will be used by our organisation solely and not disclosed within Australia without your permission and not disclosed outside of Australia. Information will only be held by us for as long as is necessary, according to the purpose for which it was collected.

 

The giving of personal information, and of identifying yourself, may in some circumstances be optional, however the provision of some of our services and activities will not be possible without certain information from you.
