Brisbane cyclists ready for a fundraising challenge are invited to enter the muscular dystrophy Queensland Ride 4 MD. Running for its second year the Ride 4 MD will bring the cycling community together to raise funds and awareness for those living with muscular dystrophy.
On Sunday 14 October 50 riders and their supporters will begin their day 7am from the Caboolture Velodrome. This year there are two routes that can be cycled, one about 50km and the other 100km.
Funds raised from the event will assist people living with muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions, through a range of comprehensive services including information and referral, advocacy, equipment, respite services and vital research initiatives.
A huge thanks to Stream Group, who is our major sponsor in 2012; their donation will cover costs for the day – ensuring that funds raised by the riders go directly to our services for clients. We also have Wolves Bike Den, Carman’s Kitchens and Stateside Promotional Merchandise assisting us with donations this year.
The inaugural Ride 4 MD in Queensland was held last year and raised over $15,000. This year Muscular Dystrophy Queensland plans to double our efforts and aim to raise over $30,000 to improve our clients’ quality of life.
To register for the ride costs $100, and includes a team riding jersey, t-shirt, water bottle and a bag of goodies. We would like to encourage each rider or team to fundraise to support those living with MD in Queensland.
