Meet Tristram Peters - Muscular Dystrophy Queensland

Meet Tristram Peters

Tristram Peters is the Head of Community Engagement at Clickability, a disability service directory that helps match NDIS participants with providers.

He’s also the co-host of the Grow Bold with Disability podcast, exploring with his guests the funny, taboo, and uncomfortable side of living with disability.

He also shares his story and some of his life hacks on The Loop – an online  neuromuscular resource hub.

Tristram, who is living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, has been in a powerchair since the age of four.

“When you’re first diagnosed, the inclination is to wrap yourself in cotton wool, not to take chances. But by taking risks, that’s how we learn and adapt and become better people. We learn from our failures.”

Tristram is also a keen powerchair football player, having represented both Queensland and Australia. He sits on the Queensland Powerchair Football Association (QPFA), Australian Powerchair Football Association (APFA), and Asia Pacific Oceania (APO) executive committees for the sport, helping steer power football’s development.

His Labrador, Jasper is also the coolest dog in the world.

Tristram is a valued member on our Board of Directors. He credits Muscular Dystrophy Queensland’s social events and sporting opportunities he attended as a child with firing his passion for sport and establishing lifelong friendships and he’s keen to explore opportunities to re-establish those services.
