Red Bow Month - Muscular Dystrophy Queensland

Red Bow Appeal

Red Bow Month

Throughout the state, we celebrate Red Bow Month throughout March to increase community awareness of muscular dystrophy and improve services for people living with muscular dystrophy and similar conditions.

Red Bow Day

Since 1994, on the first Friday of March each year, the Year 11 students of All Hallows’ School converge on Brisbane CBD for two hours before classes begin. The girls collect donations and raise awareness of muscular dystrophy.

Red Bow activities run throughout the month of March. You can host your own Red Bow fundraiser and help change the lives of people living with muscular dystrophy and similar conditions.

Why is Red Bow Month important?

Our Red Bow Month celebrations form part of Muscular Dystrophy Queensland’s most important fundraising and awareness campaign each year.

Muscular Dystrophy Queensland is very grateful to all those raising funds in their community and particularly to the All Hallows girls, who so enthusiastically encourage so many City workers to give generously. It’s only because of your wonderful support that Muscular Dystrophy Queensland is able to continue to provide vital services and support for local people living with neuromuscular conditions and their families, throughout every life stage.

We estimate there are 4,500 Queenslanders living with a form of this incurable, progressive condition.

Each year another 40 families receive the heartbreaking news that the disease has appeared in their family. We are not just there for people living with this progressive condition, we also support families and care givers who struggle with its effects on the whole family unit.

You can help make a difference by:

Your donation, large or small, will enable us to support some of our most vulnerable community members when they need it most. Your regular gift, or lasting gift in your will, enables us the flexibility to plan, for now and for the future, and to respond to unexpected needs.

Please give generously.
