Fundraising Events

Muscular Dystrophy Queensland relies on the generous support of our community to ensure we can provide vital services and support for local people living with neuromuscular conditions and their families. Our annual calendar includes the following signature events, and from time to time, fabulous members of our community run their own activities, that you can choose to support.

Red Bow Morning Tea

Red Bow Month – March

Throughout the state, we celebrate Red Bow Month in March to increase community awareness and raise funds to help improve services for people living with neuromuscular conditions.

One highlight of the month is Red Bow Day, established in 1994, with Year 11 students of All Hallows’ School converging on Brisbane CBD for two hours before classes begin to collect donations.

You can join the fun by fundraising any day or for the month in March. Create your own Red Bow activity and encourage your friends and workplace to fundraise with you.

The Brisbane Harley Owners Group have hosted their charity ride since 1995 and it is a highlight on our Muscular Dystrophy Queensland calendar.

Pillions take their seat on the back of a Harley, joining more than 100 members of the Brisbane Harley Owners Group (HOG) for a day long event. With breakfast, morning tea, lunch, activities during the breaks and a day long ride, this iconic event is not to be missed.

Ride Walk Roll – September

Chris Wiles, founder of Ride Walk Roll in 2013, continues to lead the charge, raising awareness and funds to deliver vital services for all Queenslanders living with debilitating muscle wasting conditions with our annual event.

Chris founded the initiative in honour of his son, Harper, who lives with Becker muscular dystrophy. Now participants from all over Queenslanders ride, walk, and roll to make a difference!

Ray White Ball

Ray White Charity Ball – October

Proudly hosted by brothers Greg & Andrew Bell of Ray White Surfers Paradise Group, the Muscular Dystrophy Charity Ball has been the event on the Gold Coast’s social calendar since 1993. Raising over $3 million dollars throughout the event’s history, these funds provide help for today and hope for tomorrow, being used in part to fund Muscular Dystrophy Queensland’s client services and to support research.
