NDIS Support Coordination - Muscular Dystrophy Queensland

Support Coordination

Support Coordination

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) represents superb progress for Australians, under the age of 65, who live with disabilities. When their first plan is approved, people quite suddenly have access to funding that is sufficient to meet all the supports they require to live the life they choose. Even the most outgoing and independent people can feel an overwhelming sense of “where do I begin”.

Support Coordination is a service that can be funded in your NDIS plan, to help you implement your plan and to find and engage suitable providers.

How can a Support Coordinator assist you?

A Support Coordination can help you to:

  • Connect with service providers
  • Understand NDIS processes
  • Develop service agreements that set out arrangements with your providers
  • Solve problems
  • Create and manage your NDIS Plan
  • Work towards achieving your goals
  • Get the most of your NDIS funding plan

Why employ Muscular Dystrophy Queensland as your Support Coordinator?

We are there to ‘look out for you,’ and to support you to get the most out of your NDIS plan.

Our team understands the unique challenges of life with muscle wasting conditions. We understand common progression pathways and have experience in planning for and negotiating for increased supports that may be required, to ensure you receive a quality service throughout your lifetime.

We have been providing Support Coordination since the NDIS first came to Queensland in 2016 and only employ qualified professionals to deliver your services.

What if you don’t have Support Coordination funding?

Support coordination funding is usually requested in the first planning meeting with the NDIA or at a plan review meeting. We have found that Support Coordination is very helpful for members of our community. We encourage you to ask your NDIS Planner about it when you have your planning meeting.

If you have an NDIS plan but don’t have support coordination funding, or if you’re in the process of applying for your first plan, our Infoline can assist you to understand if you can ask for this funding to be included.
