If you live in Queensland and have muscular dystrophy or a similar neuromuscular condition, we’d love to welcome you into our community.

By registering with Muscular Dystrophy Queensland, you’ll gain access to services and support designed to help you live well. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with others, access resources and programs, and take part in events that bring our community together.

It’s quick and easy to register

We’ll ask you to confirm the following:

  • your name and contact information
  • your preferences about the way we manage your information
  • your preferences for who we communicate with about you and your services. This might include members of your family, your carers and providers, and
  • Confirmation of your diagnosis, a provisional diagnosis or that you are in the process of being diagnosed.

We have compiled a list of the conditions we commonly support but understand how rare these conditions are. If you have been diagnosed with a rare condition that is similar in the progressive nature of muscular dystrophy and feel you would benefit from our support, please enquire about whether we can support you.

  • NDIS Navigation: We assist with accessing the NDIS, provide support throughout your NDIS journey and advocate for you if your NDIS application is rejected or no longer fits your needs.
  • Equipment Loans: We maintain a small pool of equipment that can be borrowed or rented, either short or long term, to support your needs.
  • Counselling: MDQ offers free counselling sessions with our Social Worker for clients and family members struggling with diagnosis, progression or just everyday life.
  • Community Connection: By registering with us you and your family become a part of our empowering and supportive community, with access to social events and information sessions.
