Research Study for Higher Levels of In-Home Aged Care Funding

The Department of Health and Aged Care (the Department) has commissioned Deloitte and Applied Aged Care Solutions to conduct a research study into in-home aged care for people living with disability, to understand how to better support people with disability in the home.

If you, or a family member, have muscular dystrophy, experienced a significant loss of mobility after 65 years of age, live in greater Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, and do not currently receive support via the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or the Disability Support for Older Australians (DSOA) Program, you qualify to participate in this research project.

The study would involve an in-person assessment of your needs, to understand the aged care supports, assistive technology and home modifications that people with muscular dystrophy require to be adequately supported in the home.

The outcomes of this research will help inform the Department of the actual home care needs of people with disability (such as muscular dystrophy).

If you are interested in participating in the study, or have any further questions about the study, please contact the contact the Deloitte research team at HLCResearchTeam@deloitte.com.au or +61 7 3308 1336.
